Freyr is the Norse god of fertility, sacral kingship and prosperity with sunshine. He is also the husband of Gerðr, and son of Njörðr. He and his sister, Freyja, were once members of the Vanir, whom later joined the Aesir.
He is also the father of Magnus Chase in the series Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan.
